本IC作为AC/DC电源用PWM控制器，为所有带有插口的产品提供优良的系统。通过外接开关MOSFET及电流检测电阻，可实现高自由度的电源设计。内置有AC低电压保护功能和X电容器放电功能，在轻负载时可降低频率、启动脉冲串，实现高效率。此外，还内置有节电功能，可降低无负载时的耗电。本IC配备后述的各种保护功能。
